I'm Gene Bursley, your local area Forensic Specialist and Threat Hunter.
Dynamic Cyber Threat Hunter with 10 years of experience in cybersecurity and threat hunting. I have been threat hunting since before it had the current name and was just proactive scanning. Proven expertise in ransomware investigations and forensic analysis, with additional qualifications as a Subject Matter Expert in threat hunting and incident response. Achievements include conducting advanced trainings and leading forensic investigations for compliance with PCI-DSS.

My Story
Began as a hobbyist as I worked in manufacturing. Had the opportunity to formalize my education to earn a Masters Degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, from Davenport University in Grand Rapids Michigan.
While working on my Masters Degree I had the privilege to work in Chicago as an Incident Responder and Forensic Analyst. During this time we began doing proactive threat analysis of systems, this later became known as Threat Hunting specialization that is listed today as a highly successful way to head off the attackers before they have a chance to impact your environment with data theft and ransomware.
Having grown up in the area and my experience working at a small business and also large corporations, I decided to begin helping others realize they can secure their computer environment cost efficiently.
